If you want to find anybody in Verona for the next eight weeks, you’d be well advised to start out at a baseball diamond. There are 740 Verona boys and girls participating in Verona Baseball & Softball League teams this season and most of them and their families participated in the traditional opening day parade from Verona Park to Everett Field.

MyVeronaNJ.com has a bit of skin in the games this season: We’re sponsoring our first team, the major league Cubs under Coach Steve Spardel. We wish Chris “Aldo” Aldiero, Lucas Hamson, Tyler Jackson, Daniel Ligon, Daniel Lucinese, Tony Mancini, Brendan Powell, Doug Spardel, Nick Vivona, and Jack Waldron well in their games. And we have a challenge for their opponents: MyVeronaNJ.com’s sponsorship banner is hanging on the center field fence at Everett. Hit a home there and we’ll give you a MyVeronaNJ.com baseball cap, just like the ones we gave our team.
