Mr. Lester J. Patterson, 89, died on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 in Glen Ridge. A funeral mass will be offered in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Verona on Monday April 11 at 10 a.m. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m.
Born in Princeton, Mr. Patterson lived in Newark prior to moving to Verona in 1963 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946.
Mr. Patterson was a tool engineer at Bendix Corp. in Teterboro for 37 years and then worked at General Dynamics for 7 years, retiring in 1986.
He is the husband of Helen A. Patterson, the father of Terry Patterson and his wife Edith, Susan Varanelli and her husband Nicholas, Peter Patterson and his wife Priscilla Hayes and Pamela Blind and her husband James. He is also survived by his sister, Matty St. Amand, 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Endowment Trust of Our Lady of the Lake Church would be appreciated.
