This past Thursday night, March 31, dens 3 & 4 of Verona Cub Scouts Pack 32 learned all about how MyVeronaNJ.com works. If you are familiar with Cub Scouts you already know that there are several requirements that need completing before the boys can move up a level. This crew of boys has spent the past year earning badges in an effort to complete their Bobcat year and move up to Tiger Scouts. As part of their Go-See- It list, the pack is required to see how a newspaper or radio operates. While we do not have a traditional newspaper printing press in town, the boys were able to see how an online newspaper works. The first part of the evening meeting included videos of how a traditional newspaper prints and how those papers are distributed. The second part reviewed how a news story is created only online as well as the necessary information in a news story such as who, what, where, when, why, and how. In the end, they learned all about how MyVeronaNJ.com works and in the end enjoyed the Dunkin’ Donuts munchkins they were promised for a job well done.
