At its Monday, March 21,  meeting, the Verona Town Council approved the fees for the Verona Pool this season. The fees are going up, but roughly by what one family dinner at the snack bar (still Lakeside Deli) will cost you. This is the first increase in the membership fees that support the pool in two years, by the way.

The Family membership will rise from $395 to $410, while the Family with Babysitter badge goes from $480 to $500. A word to the wise however: Do not misuse the babysitter privilege. The council has pledged to watch this category this summer to make sure it is not abused.

The Couple membership will be $375 (up from $360) and the Parent/Child membership will rise to $350 from $340.

An Individual membership will increase from $255 to $265 this year, while the Senior Citizen membership will be bumped up to $140 from $135.

To lock in these rates, you’ve got to pay promptly when the Pool membership packet comes out. There will be an extra $20 charge after May 13.

The council also approved guest fees: $7 for adults on weekdays and $10 on weekends; $5 and $6, respectively for children, but you can buy books of six passes for either for the price of five. Enrolling your kids in the Verona Waves swim team will cost you $50 per child on top of your pool membership.

  1. Guests must be brought into the pool by members, except for the two nights on which there are band concerts at the pool, July 27 and August 31. Those nights are open to all Verona residents.
