Colin Farawell felled his first two opponents at the NJSIAA State Wrestling Championships in Atlantic City on Friday, before falling himself today.

The Verona High School senior scored a 4-2 decision over Kevin Bracken of Lakeland in his first match and a 5-3 decision over Bryheim Muse of Timber Creek in his second. But he was then pinned in 7:57 by Tyler Rios of Highland Park. (Rios lost to Dallas Winston of Jackson in his next match.) In the wrestleback, Farawell was at the short end of a 16-0 decision to Connor Gabriel of Roselle Park.

The finals in the 189 weight class will pit Winston against James Fox of St. Peter’s Prep, who defeated Farawell at the Region 4 finals last weekend.
