The Verona Community Center will hold another driver refresher class for senior citizens on March 7 and 9 from 9 a.m. to noon. This class fills up quickly so if you want to attend, or know of a senior citizen who wants to, you should register now.
The class is taught by a trained AARP Driver Safety Program volunteer, Bill Keenan. Participants need to attend both sessions and, upon completion, they get a certificate to send to their insurance carrier to apply for a premium reduction for three years. Keenan says that prospective participants should contact their insurance carrier before registering to see how their carrier recognizes the completion of a defensive driving class.
The fee for the course is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members, payable by check only when registering. For more information or to register, call Keenan at (973) 226-7046.
