Dr. Andrea Buccino is saying a special thank-you to patients who came in for treatment this past holiday season. The Verona chiropractic physician donated all patient co-pays made between December 14 and December 24 to the Salvation Army, American Red Cross, and the Center of United Methodist Aid to the Community Ecumenically Concerned Helping Others (CUMAC/ECHO), a food pantry in Paterson. Some patients also made donations. “The office raised over $300, extending the holiday season for families in need,” Dr. Buccino says.

Dr. Buccino, who is currently attending classes to become a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician, says The Salvation Army holds a special place in her  heart. “It helped out a very important family in 1928, a family that experienced Christmas because of the goodness of others. That family was my grandfather’s,” she says. “His father died when he was three years old in a coal mine, leaving behind eight children. The Salvation Army was their salvation, and not only at Christmas. I wanted people in our community who are struggling to have the opportunity for a special holiday.”
