Verona LIVE, a new town program for seniors, is starting a walking club in the Verona Community Center gym on Thursday mornings. The first session will be this Thursday, January 13, from 10 to 11 a.m.
The program will be led by JCC MetroWest instructor Lori Chimoff and will include warm up and cool down exercises.Wear sneakers and comfortable clothes. For information, call Verona LIVE at (973) 830-0096.
Verona LIVE, which stands for Lifelong Involvement for Vital Elders, is a federally funded community program for adults over the age of 60, with additional local support from The Partners for Health Foundation. It is based in the Verona Community Center and its programs, which will include exercise and educational programs, as well as social events, are free.
Verona LIVE also offers an employment counselor on Mondays, a social worker on Tuesdays, and a handyman who will come to homes in Verona to conduct a safety assessment and make needed minor repairs and modifications.
