MyVeronaNJ-Christmas-Tree-RecycleVerona will begin picking up Christmas trees on Wednesday, January 5, and will continue the collection every Wednesday through January 26. Clear your tree of decorations and place it at the curb, and be sure to remove the plastic bag or sheet that you used to carry it out of the house.

If you want to return your tree to Mother Nature yourself, Perfect Christmas Tree Farm in Phillipsburg, N.J. is once again having its  Tree Chipping party on Saturday, January 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The farm, which is located near the western end of Route 22, is going all-out this year. There will be hayrides or sled rides, and you’ll also be able to sample locally raised beef that has been slow-cooked over the stone hearth of farmer John Curtis’ Colonial-era home.
