If you’re feeling spent by Christmas, Time Out New York‘s kids edition has something you might enjoy: Several days of free, or nearly free things to do in New York City over the holiday week break. They range from the skating rink at Bryant Park (which Tracy has already flagged as a good idea) to a gingerbread house show that benefits City Harvest, the charity that gathers up extras from city restaurants to feed those in need.

Time Out New York has helpfully broken events out day by day, so you can find what fits into your schedule. Every listing also has the time of the event, directions and even a link to the event’s Web site. See all of the magazine’s suggestions here.
