Christmas and New Years Day both fall on Saturdays this year, closing anything that might be open in town, including the Recycling Center. So Verona is changing the center’s schedule so that you can get your cardboard boxes and champagne bottles there for recycling in a timely way.
In place of December 25, the recycling center will be open December 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. In place of New Years, the center will be open January 3, from 8:30 to 3:30.
Cardboard boxes should not go out with the regular trash, at Christmas or any other time of the year. It’s a bulky material that takes up a lot of space in the trucks, raising our garbage pickup costs. Just remember to flatten the boxers before tossing them into the containers at the Recycling Center.
