On Wednesday, December 15, members of the Verona Policemen’s Benevolent Association Local 72 made their annual Holiday Costume Trip to special-needs schools in our area. For the 35th year in a row, the officers left their uniforms hanging in their lockers for the day, donned some very familiar costumes and spent time entertaining kids.

Robert Shafer, the event’s coordinator, noted that the officers added two new schools to their tour this year. “It’s a great day for us and for the kids,” he said .

“It’s a great way to make the kids smile”, said Bill Frazee, the PBA’s treasurer. Transportation for this year’s event was donated by the Kevah Konner Bus Company of Pine Brook.
