The Verona Fire Department turned out recently to celebrate the Firefighter 1 graduation of Kevin Toscano. That’s Kevin in the white gloves in the center, surrounded by Chief Harvey Goodman, C.T. Magatti, Tucker Neale, Ex-Chief Jeff Hayes, Jerry DeYoung and Steve Hayes.

We have an all-volunteer fire department in Verona, and if you’d like to join, you need to be between the ages of 18 and 45, and have lived in Verona for at least six months. You then have to go through 150 hours of training, which is paid for by the department. All the details on how to join are on the department’s Web site under the “Volunteer” tab.
