So we hope that, after you looked at all those lovely photos of Verona’s recycling center last week you were inspired to take something there for recycling on Saturday. And that you’ll always remember to bring your cardboard and old electronics there and not dump them at the curb.
Now that that public service announcement is out of the way, we’ll get to the larger purpose of today’s story: Introducing the first clue for a new week of our Where In Verona contest. The first Fred Goode photo for Week 17 is below, so put your best guess in the Comments field, giving us your real name and real e-mail address. If nobody gets it today (and Fred is really hoping you won’t) we’ll be adding more photos to the slideshow all week long.
UPDATE: We’ve added a second clue.

Town Medical Center.
Nope. Go back to enjoying your breakfast.
Emergency light inside VCC Annex.
Nope. Go to work.
computer at the Verona library
Henry’s?
No to both. Sorry, ladies.
Verona Variety (Or “VV” as those “cool” people call it) food store
It’s good to be cool, but in this contest you have to be right, too. Try again.
American Dry Cleaners.
Wrong answer, but you did remind me that I have to pick up a sweater there.
Are we allowed to guess more than once? Bc I have a second answer…
You can guess as many times as you’d like. Kathleen always does…
Jack’s Cafe.
Sorry for the delayed response. You’d think, since I don’t have to pack lunches today, I’d have less to do in the morning.
No, it’s not Jack’s.
Town scoop
That would have been very devious of us to repeat a location (Towne Scoop was the Week 3 answer). But no. However, if you do want to see what’s happening now at Towne Scoop, check out the “Turkeys and Chicksters” story on the home page.
7-11?
Lakeside Deli? Verona Pizza?
Mardi Gras Catering?
Nope.
Only one guess each time. You’ll need to choose.
Lakeside Deli??
Since it’s close to lunch time that’s an understandable guess. But wrong.
Well you’ve got us really guessing now…since you’ve already said no to mine and a few more that I would have guessed…I’ll throw out On The Run (Exxon) at the corner of Bloomfield and Mt. Prospect/Pompton
You can throw it out, but the answer is still no.
The Verona Rescue Squad
Interesting guess. I didn’t see spoons in the ambulance on our one excursion to Saint Barnabus, but I suppose there might be some in the station house. In either case, it’s not the rescue squad.
hobcow cafe
hobcaw cafe on grove ave.
Hmmm. Now here we have a dilemma. Kathleen was first with the right answer, but doesn’t have it spelled quite right. Alice does. Both of you ladies are repeat winners so tell me, what do we do?
Create a winners board & donate the hat to the owner of hobcaw cafe!
