It was Bobby’s game last night.

The Verona High School Hillbillies traveled to Secaucus on Friday for the first game in the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 1 playoffs and Bobby Kaslander brought them home winners. He scored three of Verona’s four touchdowns and nailed all four of the point-after kicks, giving Verona a 28-20 victory over a powerful Secaucus squad.

There were some solid stats all around for Verona, which went into the match-up as the fifth-seeded underdog. Quarterback Matt Rosenfeld completed 12 of 20 passes for 189 yards; 91 of those yards ended in Kaslander’s hands. Rosenfeld also connected with Colin Farawell on a 7-yard touchdown pass. Cooper Neale’s running game tallied 78 yards on 18 carries. Who Verona plays next depends on the outcome of today’s game between Hoboken and New Providence.
