Verona’s public schools have been building a database of residents for a new kind of volunteer group. Called the Community Resource Initiative, it is geared to identifying Veronans able to share career expertise, talents and hobbies with students. The initiative, which is being led by Elizabeth Toriello, the district’s director of instructional studies, has now put a form on the school Web site to elicit more volunteers.
