Obituaries: Louis Balsamo

Mr. Louis E. Balsamo, 83, died on Thursday, November 4, in Wayne.

A funeral mass will be offered in Our Lady of the Lake Church, on Saturday, November 6 at 9:45 a.m. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Ave., Verona on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.

Born in Newark, Mr. Balsamo lived in Bloomfield prior to moving to Verona 49 years ago. He was a chemist with Fluid Chemical Company in Newark for 30 years and then worked in security at the Meadowlands Racetrack for 20 years. He is a U.S. Army Veteran.

Mr. Balsamo is survived by his wife Phyllis Balsamo, his children Angela Ricciardi and her husband Mark and Patricia Mignone. He is also the grandfather of Danielle Mignone, Mark Ricciardi, Jr. and Michelle Ricciardi.

Memorial donations to either Hospice of NJ, (in memory of L. Balsamo), 224 Hamburg Turnpike, Wayne NJ 07470 or to the Parkinson Foundation, PO Box 5018, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5018 would be appreciated.
