Sneek A Peak At The Big Tag Sale

First Presbyterian‘s big tag sale is this Saturday, November 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and parishioner Beth Shorten has sent us some snaps of what will be up for grabs.

She notes that what started out as an annual fundraiser in one room of the church –Chamberlain Hall–has expanded over the years.  This year, the goods fill two large rooms and the hallways are filled with books: hardcover, paperbacks, fiction and non-fiction, travel books, cookbooks and lots of kids books.

Hope Tinsley, another parishioner, notes that every year the church is lucky enough to get the contents of at least one home, thanks to a realtor among its members. “The house we cleaned out this year was owned by a women who traveled a lot,” says Tinsley. “She had dishes from each place she went. They are vintage and very nice. Also this year we received a lot of vintage jewelry.”

And even if you don’t need furniture, jewelry or books, First Presbyterian will be selling home-cooked chili and its signature White Hawaiian coconut cake.

“Remember, these photos were taken Wednesday evening,” Shorten told us last night. “There are still two more days of set up and there’s sure to be even  more stuff out by Saturday morning!”
