
UPDATE: The statistics below reflect New Jersey Division of Election data as of 10:55 p.m. The results are unofficial, but the early tallies from the New Jersey Division of Elections indicate that Rep. Bill Pascrell has won re-election, as has Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo Jr.
According to the state, 130,778 152,336 of Essex County’s 456,369 voters turned out, or 28.66% 33.38%. Pascrell has won 63.03% 61.43% of the votes counted so far, to 35.48% 36.98% for Republican challenger Roland Straten. Independent Raymond Giangrasso got just over 1% of the vote.
In the race for County Executive, DiVincenzo easily won his third term with 75.02% 74.93% of the vote. Republican Herbert Glenn pulled 21.83% 21.99% and Independent Marilynn English, a resident of Verona who was running her first campaign, won 3.07% 3.01%.
Unofficial results from Idaho indicate that Verona native Ralph Mossman lost his bid for State Representative from the 31st district.
