H.B. Whitehorne Middle School will hold a parent information workshop on Thursday, October 14 from 7:15 to 8 p.m. called “What to Expect When Your Child Is in Middle School”.
This workshop will be run by Hebe Schafer, a licensed clinical social worker who is now on staff at HBW thanks to a grant the school received from the Mountainside Health Foundation. Schafer has over 10 years of experience working with middle and high school students and their families. She will be addressing issues such as the normal development process, managing technology, talking and staying connected to your middle school-age child and other social or emotional concerns parents may have.
If you plan to attend or have further questions, please contact Schafer at (973) 571-6751 x 2031. And here’s the ultimate inducement to attend: You get a free homework pass for your child if you go.
