The Hillbillies didn’t let a last-minute change of venue put them off their game. In fact, Friday night’s home game against Montclair Kimberley Academy, which was shifted to the bright lights of the Centennial turf field, was pretty much all Verona’s game.

Bobby Kaslander put Verona on the board first on a Matt Rosenfeld pass. Kaslander contributed the extra point on his TD, and on three other Verona scores made by Cooper Neale, Greg Schiffenhaus and Mike Harrington. The sophomore snagged an MKA ball and ran it back 67 yards for that touchdown. Joe Costa also scored on a 40-yard run after an interception. Mike Sasso had the lone score for MKA, which didn’t come until the fourth quarter. Dean Podlas had the final Verona touchdown for the evening, which ended with the scoreboard at 40-6.

We’ll let Fred Goode’s photos tell the rest of the story. You can see more of his coverage, and order photos, on his Web site.
