Over the last four years, Bob Prout has covered his business, which is also his home, in solar panels. He’s cut his reliance on PSE&G to a fraction of his former bill and many days, his electricity meter spins backward as he sends energy he produced to the utility.

This Saturday, October 2, you can see how he did and and learn ways to bring solar power and energy efficiency to your home or business. The Prout Funeral Home has been invited by the American Solar Energy Society to host an open house from noon to 4 p.m. Tours will be given on the hour, and the event is free. Prout Funeral Home is located at 370 Bloomfield Avenue. You learn all about his solar conversion here.
