Get ready for a wall of sound. Several walls, actually.
The Verona High School Marching Maroon and White is hosting the annual Festival of Bands on October 2, which will bring seven high school marching bands from across our area to the upper VHS field for one big evening of music. And thanks to a lot of cooking by the Verona Music Parents Association, the chow line in the high school cafeteria will be as good as the drum lines on the field
Here are the details. The gates open at 5 p.m. and there will be a new band every 15 minutes until about 8 p.m. Participating bands include Belleville, Passaic Valley, Pompton Lakes, Rutherford, West Essex Regional, Glen Ridge and, of course, Verona. Here’s the full schedule.
Admission is just $10 for adults, $5 for senior citizens and students, and $3 for children under 12. VHS students get in free. This is a major fundraiser for the Verona music program so come out and enjoy the music–and the homemade food.
