This class isn’t until next month, but it fills up quickly so if you are a senior citizen who drives or you know one who does, you should read this now.
The Verona Community Center is holding a driver refresher class for senior citizens on October 12 and 14 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The class is taught by a trained AARP Driver Safety Program volunteer, Bill Keenan. Participants need to attend both sessions and, upon completion, they get a certificate to send to their insurance carrier to apply for a premium reduction for three years. Keenan says that prospective participants should contact their insurance carrier before registering to see how their carrier recognizes the completion of a defensive driving class.
The fee for the course is $12 for AARP members and $140 for non-members, payable by check only when registering. For more information or to register, call Keenan at (973) 226-7046.
