Yes, there were forgotten lunches and summer homework assignments, misplaced class schedules and locker combinations. But on the whole it was an easy and uneventful first day of school yesterday at Verona’s public and Catholic schools.
Town Council member Frank Sapienza reminded residents at Tuesday night’s council meeting to exercise caution when driving around schools and at school drop-off and pick-up, as well as to follow Verona’s no-idling policy by turning off vehicle engines while waiting for children at all school buildings. Verona’s annual Walk-To-School day will be on Wednesday, October 6.
