Stay Alert On Bloomfield Avenue

You probably know by know that Verona’s main thoroughfare can be a bit dicey at times. Bloomfield Avenue gets a lot of cars and, as in all towns, there’s not a lot of room between street-side parking and the traffic.

Kevin Toscano was in an accident on Bloomfield Avenue this weekend and sent us an e-mail with a reminder on traffic safety. Toscano, who has done a lot of the residential roofs in town as well as that of the Verona Rescue Squad, was doing the speed limit when the driver of a parked car opened its door, apparently without looking. Lots of damage to both vehicles that will mean lots of time spent on repairs and paperwork instead of other things. Luckily, neither Toscano nor the driver opening the car door was injured.

So heed this reminder: Look before you open your car door into traffic.
