Nightstand Creations, a Verona-based creator of animated children’s programs, has received two Emmy nominations from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ Mid-Atlantic Chapter.
Nightstand’s “December Miracles” was nominated in the category of Outstanding Entertainment Program Feature/Segment. The program, which has aired on public television in New Jersey, is the story of a child whose wish to be adopted is answered at Christmas. Randy Rossilli Jr., the founder of Nightstand Creations, was also nominated in the Outstanding Director category. Bradley Hirschfield, recently named by Newsweek magazine as one of the 50 most influential rabbis in America, served as an adviser to the program.
In 2008, Nightstand Creations won the Mid-Atlantic Chapter’s Emmy for Outstanding Children/Youth/Teen Program or Special for “The Adventures of Young Thomas Edison”. It was nominated in 2009 in the Best Music Composition/Arrangement category for its “Lil’ Grusome and the Nutshell Gang” program. The Mid-Atlantic Chapter is one of 20 regional affiliates of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, which will award the primetime Emmys on August 29.
The awards ceremony for the local chapter will be September 25 in Philadelphia.
