A coffee-deprived cohort of Verona residents have been lobbying hard for a Starbucks here. But alas, that is not to be. Well, at least not now.
The new business going into one of the vacant spaces at the Blenden Group’s Pilgrim Plaza shopping center is Anthony Francos Ristorante & Pizzeria, a mini-chain with businesses in six other northern New Jersey towns. Yup, more pizza.
Just moved to Verona with my famiy… love the town, love the pool… hate driving to Montclair for Starbucks!
We can’t get Trader Joe’s, Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts or an independent book store, but we have 3 Krauszer’s, 2 Subways, 1 7 Eleven and now one more pizza place. I love pizza as much as the next person, but would much rather support a local business to buy a coffee, specialized groceries or a book in my own town than a neighboring town. Why is this so difficult? Anyone else?
I’d love a book store in the old IHOP spot. If they expand to the next vacant lot maybe they could add a Starbucks inside!
