It may seem as if spring baseball just ended, but fall ball is around the corner.

In fact, travel team tryouts for Verona Baseball Softball League softball (U10, U12 and U14, with an age cutoff of 12/31) and baseball (U9 – U14 with an age cutoff of 4/30) will be held on or around August 8. Players interested in trying out for a travel team must register for tryouts by e-mailing [email protected] by August 1. There will also be fall recreational softball teams offered in conjunction with Cedar Grove for girls in grades 5 through 8 that will not require tryouts.

The VBSL will also be offering new instructional programs in the fall for first, second and third grade baseball players at the Fred Hill Sports Academy, beginning the third week of September and running through the end of October. Third graders will also receive pitching instruction. Softball instructional programs will be offered for players in 2nd through 4th grades. The softball program will take place in November and December. If you have questions about any VBSL programs, please e-mail the board.
