The Verona Public Library will have lots of activities for the town’s youngest readers this summer.
First up is the Reading Club. Kids can track their summer reading in a log book and win prizes for their efforts. There will be stickers for every 8 to 10 books read and a grand prize drawing on Wednesday, August 25 at 10 a.m. To get started, pick up a free log book at the main desk. The Reading Club is open to both readers and kids just learning about reading.
Then, every Wednesday through August 18, there will be a special performance at the library. Polka Dot will be singing on Wednesday, July 7 at 10:30 a.m., following by magician Scott Drukker–Great Scott It’s Magic–on July 14 at 3 p.m. On Wednesday, July 21 at 3 p.m. there will be Bubble Trouble and, for reptile lovers, a live turtle show with author Steve Woyce on July 28 at 3 p.m.
The first Wednesday in August at 10:30 a.m. will feature Mark the Magician, which is a magic and kazoo show by Mark Zacharia. On Wednesday, August 11 at 10:30, it will be time for Hocus Pocus with Joe Fisher and on August 18 at 3 p.m., the Lionheart Puppets will present “Seven With One Blow.” The last performance of the summer season will be Bob Conrad’s Deep Sea Magic Show on August 25 at 10 a.m.
All library programs are free and geared to children ages 3 to 11.
