Summer is officially here. The pool is open, I’m done packing lunch, and my kids are done counting down the final days of the school year. As much as I look forward to summer (we drove by the pool in February just to see it) even the pool becomes a little redundant. There’s only so much ice cream before dinner and whining about not wanting to go home that one can take in a summer. Honestly, I think I just need the change of pace, even if my kids don’t. By the 3rd week in August, I’m ready for school to start, so August activities are always welcome.
The good news is that there are options for your kids. Camps that enrich, enhance, or challenge are great for summer- offering something new without the pressure of things like homework, dinner, sports, and a decent bedtime. Our goal is to share some of those options here. If we miss something, please post a comment and we’ll be happy to include it. And, don’t forget day trips. Summer is a great time to escape for a day or even two depending on your destination.
So, whether you’re looking for something educational, artistic, athletic, air conditioned, or just different, keep checking the site or simply bookmark searches for “Summer Options” and “Day Trips“.
