Mr. John A. (Jack) Bott, 80, died on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 in Lakewood, NJ.

A Funeral Mass celebrating his life will be offered in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Verona on Friday, June 18 at 11 a.m. Family and friends are invited to visit in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Ave., Verona on Thursday 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.

Born in Newark, Mr. Bott lived in Verona and Whiting prior to moving to Lakewood 12 years ago.

He was a 40-year member of the Operating Engineers-Local 68, West Caldwell and worked as a stationary engineer at Prudential Insurance Company in Newark for 31 years. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army.

Jack possessed a zest for living and led an adventurous life. He was an avid golfer, an award-winning bowler, and a fearless skydiver. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He had a large network of friends and truly thrived in his golden years.

He is the beloved father of Kathleen Bott, Peggy Feinstein and her husband Miles, Patricia Dandola, Brian Bott and his wife Sherrod and adoring grandfather of Brady Bott. He is also survived by his former wife Margaret Bott and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be missed greatly by all those who knew and loved him.
