A Touch Of The Poet At HBW

Temple University writing professor and published poet Jason Schossler recently conducted a two-part workshop with H.B. Whitehorne 6th graders in Mrs. Fusaro’s English  class. Mr. Schossler visited the class twice to teach students how to improve the quality of their writing through poetry.

The class was given a free-verse poetry assignment on his first visit and asked to e-mail their completed work to him. Between visits, Mr. Schossler edited the poetry and went over the work with the students during his return visit last week. Several students read their poems aloud to class. The workshop was funded through a grant from the Verona Foundation for Educational Excellence.
