Stephen Ruggiero, the former coach of Verona’s tennis and hockey teams, is getting off to a fast start in his new job as director of the Richard J. Codey Arena. He’s just sent word that the arena will be hosting an 8-week hockey skills development program for kids that begins this Saturday, June 5, at 8:15 a.m.

The 1-hour program is designed for children ages 6-13 who have already done some training and have their own hockey gear. It runs through July 24 and costs $160 for the full program or $25 per session for walk-ons. Ruggiero says there are still openings in the program.
