The Verona Recreation Department has named Dana Visentin to the newly created volunteer position of Teen Committee Coordinator and they are kicking off the committee’s work with a bang: Two teen pool parties on Monday, June 21.
Here’s how it will work. The 5th and 6th graders from H.B. Whitehorne Middle School and Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School will have the pool to themselves on that day from 1 to 3 p.m. Then, at 4 p.m., the pool will open its doors to the 7th and 8th graders of both schools, who will have their own party until 6 p.m. Both groups will have music provided by a DJ, as well as games, ice cream and, of course, swimming. If it rains, both parties get shifted to Tuesday, June 22.
The parties are free, but you’ve got to register your kids in advance through the town’s Web site. Here’s how: Scroll down to the bottom of this page and look for the yellow and blue Online Registration logo. When you have logged in to the Community Pass system, select “Teen Recreation” from the drop-down menu and follow the registration directions.
Adult volunteers and Rec Department staff will provide supervision and the lifeguards and pool managers will be on duty. The snack bar will be open with a limited menu if the kids want to buy additional food. If you’ve got questions, contact the Rec Department at 973-857-4830.
Sorry, I just can’t find the registration forms. I have both a 6th and an 8th grader that would like to go to the party.
thanks
MJ
