Another depressing possibility out of Trenton today: The NJSIAA, the government body of high school athletics in the state, may eliminate individual state championships along with the Tournament of Champions and the Meet of Champions for team sports as a cost-cutting measure. The decision will likely be made on Wednesday when the group’s Executive Committee meets to try to overcome a $900,000 shortfall for the next school year. You can see the Star-Ledger story here.
