On the “Not-To-Be-Missed” List of spring events in Verona is this evening’s annual Creative Arts Festival at VHS. The evening will begin at 7:30 p.m. with student musical performances in the front lobby; it will continue with student-directed one-act plays in the cafeteria at 8:15 pm. From 7:30 to 8:30 students will show a presentation on web-page design, and visual displays will be on view in the new gym. Students will also be demonstrating face and hand decoration and selling fused glass necklaces and earrings. Proceeds will go to the Verona Chapter of the National Art Honor Society, to frame student artwork for the high school foyer.

Fair-goers will also be able to paint a heart for a $3 donation to “Hearts of Hope.” Hearts will be given to individuals suffering from illness or loss of loved ones at area hospitals. Refreshments will be offered for sale as well.

Those who cannot attend this evening’s festivities can view the artwork tomorrow morning from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
