
Mr. Robert D. Knodle, Jr. died on Saturday, May 22, at his home in Verona. He was 56.
Services will be held in the First Congregational Church of Verona, Church Street, Verona on Tuesday, May 25, at 10:30 a.m. Visiting in Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Ave., Verona on Monday, May 24 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
A lifelong resident of Verona, he graduated from Verona High School in 1972. He was a senior corrections officer for the State of New Jersey at the Adult Diagnostic & Treatment Center in Avenel.
Mr. Knodle was an active member of the Verona Volunteer Fire Department, serving as safety officer and past lieutenant of Truck Company 2.
He is survived by his wife Mary Lou Knodle, his daughters Jayme Lee Knodle and Kirsti Lynn Knodle, his brother Loring Knodle, his sister Jane Dixit and his uncle Richard Knodle.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Verona Volunteer Fire Department, 880 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona, NJ 07044, would be appreciated.
Sorry to hear of your loss. I went to school with “Robbie” a long time ago. He was always a nice person.
