Obituaries: Mildred F. Owen

Mrs. Mildred F. (nee Conklin) Owen, 97, died on Thursday, May 20, in West Milford.

Services will be held in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Ave., Verona on Saturday, May 22, at 11 a.m. Visiting on Saturday morning from 9 to 11 a.m.

Born in West Caldwell, Mrs. Owen moved to Verona in 1937. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Verona Rescue Squad, the Daughters of the American Revolution and an active quilter.

Mildred is the wife of the late Alexander T. Owen, the mother of Phyllis (Gay) Sisco and her husband Allen, John Owen and his wife Eileen, and the grandmother of Deborah Helfand and her husband Scott, Pamela Gerges and her husband Chris and Thomas Sisco and his wife Dawn. She is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Verona Rescue Squad or the Verona Fire Department would be appreciated.
