Walk For A Walking Path

Our friends at Baristanet have alerted us to an unusual event on Sunday.

Dubbed “The Big Walk”, it’s a 50-mile walk to raise money for the East Coast Greenway, a plan to create a 3,000-mile traffic-free trail from Maine to Florida. New Jersey’s section of the Greenway will be 94 miles long and it’s already 48% done.

This Sunday’s event will let you walk from the Metropark train station in Iselin to Penn Station in New York City, and no, you don’t have to walk the whole path. The walk is free, but the Greenway is seeking donations and new memberships, which start at $25 for students. For more info, see Baristanet’s story.
