Verona High School seniors Rebecca Slotkin and Dave Oster were honored for their accomplishments in sports and school on Monday, May 10, by the Essex County Athletic Director’s Association.
Slotkin and Oster are each are three-sport athletes in cross country, indoor track and spring track. Oster competed on the national level in the 2009 Foot Locker Cross Country championships this past December. He will attend Syracuse University on an athletic scholarship in the fall.
Slotkin was invited to the Penn Relays in April, the exclusive national competition for high school and college athletes, and holds many pole vault awards in the Super Essex Conference. She will attend Lafayette College in the fall.
The two join last year’s VHS scholar-athletes, Taylor Zebrowski and Chris Looney. Zebrowski is now a standout on the Women’s Lacrosse team at Holy Cross, while Looney plays football for Colgate University.
