If you want to see the meadowland birds of spring, you need to be on the New Jersey Audubon Society‘s hike in Fairfield this Thursday. The NJAS will be in the Great Piece Meadow, looking for herons, sandpipers, swallows, sparrows, and more. The hike starts in the parking lot of Charlie Brown’s Restaurant, 337 Fairfield Road, at 8 a.m., and the NJAS is cautioning that footing may be wet. The cost is $6 for NJAS members and $8 for non-members. Contact Kelly Wenzel at 973-226-6082 for more information and to register.[mappress]
