Obituaries: Marie A. Garland

Mrs. Marie A. Garland, 81, died on Tuesday April 20 in West Orange. Private services were held. A public celebration of her life will be announced.

Born in Paterson, Mrs. Garland lived in Montclair & Little Falls prior to moving to Verona 30 years ago.

She was an administrator in physician practice management in the Passaic County area, working in cardiology offices and Wayne General Hospital for many years. After retirement, she was a secretary in the Biology Department of Montclair State University.

Active in the Verona Senior Citizens, Mrs. Garland served as president, vice president and trip chair. She was also a volunteer at the Verona Service League, served on the Verona Pool Committee, and was an election day poll worker.
Mrs. Garland is the wife of the late Basil Garland, the mother of James Garland, Robert Garland, Kathleen Rouzic, Maureen DiLella, Patricia Garland and Susan Bahr. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 507 Westminister Avenue, Elizabeth, NJ 07208 (Attn: MSDA Relay for Life-Xtreme Fighters) would be appreciated.
