Here’s something to do next week if you’re having a “staycation”: The Outdoor Adventure Club at the Essex County Environmental Center. It’s a one-hour program for children ages 7 to 11 directed by the center’s staff naturalist. The whole class is conducted outdoors and activities may include building forts, collecting firewood, skipping rocks, telling stories, digging for critters, spotting wildlife, playing tag and more.

The class takes place on Wednesday, April 28 at 4 p.m. The cost is $6 per child per session and advance registration and payment is required. For information, call 973-228-8776.
