Verona won its second game in a row on Friday by defeating Belleville 8-3.
Connor Carr continued to pitch well for the Hillbillies, scattering three runs across seven innings and earning himself the win.
Patience was the key to the Verona victory.  The lineup worked many long at-bats and earned nine walks; both fatiguing the Belleville starter and causing men to constantly be on base.  In the third inning alone, Verona scored six runs without getting a hit with the help of a slew of walks and a hit batter.
Verona added some insurance in the fifth inning when Anthony Oranges tripled in a run and Mike Congero knocked in another one giving the Hillbillies eight runs on the day.
Verona hopes that it can continue to improve on its 3-7 record Monday against Glen Ridge.
