The Essex County Environmental Center in Roseland has a full schedule of activities for kids this week, beginning with a “Bug Club” on Tuesday, April 13 at 4 p.m.
The “Bug Club”, which is held year-round at the center, is geared to kids ages 6 to 10 and teaches them the world of insects through field walks, games, stories and crafts. Your children can can join in at any session, but space is limited and advance registration and payment–$6 per session–is required. For information, call 973-228-8776.
On Wednesday, April 14, the focus shifts to pets when the 4-H Pet Club holds a session to teach kids how to take care of pets and small animals. The class begins at 4 p.m. and advance registration is required. For more information, call 4-H at 973-228-3785. This class is held at the Environmental Center’s older building, which is called Garibaldi Hall.
The 4-H will once again convene its Environmental Kids Club in Garibaldi Hall on Thursday, April 15. This class is for children in grades 2 through 5 and, as with the others, you’ve got to register in advance. For more information, please call the 4-H at 973-228-3785.
