Music and more music: Two Verona-based bands will be performing at Tierney’s in Montclair on Friday, March 19.
Stephanie White & The Philth Harmonic, with Verona residents Rob LaFalce, Chris Staranka and, usually, Nick LaFalce, goes on first at 10:45 p.m. They will be followed by The Defending Champions, a rock, reggae and soul band featuring VHS alumni Matt Ryan, Dean Nevolis, and Matt Schoenbaum at 11:30 p.m. There’s a $8 cover charge for the sets, and you’ve got to be 21 or older to get in or be with someone who is.
Check out the videos to get a sample of the shows. The first is the Philth Harmonic’s “Cheat On My BFFL”. The second is The Defending Champion’s “I Can’t Wait”. And if you think this kind of music needs to be heard in town by people who aren’t yet old enough to go to a club, please go below the clips to take our poll.

Thank you for putting that my husbands band will be playing at the Grasshopper which is technically in Lincoln Park. They are performing from 12-5pm and celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. The bar was open but many people could not get there due to the flooding on the 17th. Many Thanks again!
