MyVeronaNJ-Connor-DonohueA reader has e-mailed to alert us to the tragic death of Connor Donohue, a Montclair native who was well known to many families in Verona for his work at the YMCA’s Frost Valley YMCA Camp.

Donohue, a social worker in Manhattan, fell 24 stories to his death on Sunday, March 14, when the railing on his apartment’s balcony gave way. Baristanet has a story here, and the New York Daily News has a write-up on Donohue’s work with the poor in New York City.

Baristanet says that, in lieu of flowers, donations for a scholarship fund can be sent to Frost Valley YMCA, 2000 Frost Valley Road, Claryville, NY 12725. Please indicate “In Honor of Connor Donohue” on the donation.
