Get ready to program your DVR: There’s a new reality show coming from the Style Network, “Jerseylicious“, and it’s got a Verona connection.
Anthony Lombardi, owner of Anthony Robert Salon on Bloomfield Avenue is one of the stars and we better tell you right away that we have a major conflict of interest covering this story. Julia and I both go there, as does Doreen Arminio, our new ad sales director. Ann Matturro Gault, who’s working on a new story about one of our school crossing guards, was an Anthony Robert customer but goes to an New York City stylist friend. (Bo Kirby, who has taken all those great photos in our sports photo albums on Facebook, has her hair cut out of town; ditto Tracy Bermeo, our preschool maven.)
As with all these reality shows, there’s a bit of truth and a bit of fiction, especially when a show’s tag line is “where big hair meets even bigger personalities”.
“Jerseylicious” premieres Sunday, March 21, at 10 p.m. The Style Network is channel 160 on Verizon and channel 50 on Comcast. It’s clear from the video previews that Style is beginning to release that Lombardi and television were meant to be together. “After working with all the girls in the show and watching them accessorize everything,” he says of the clip below, “I thought it would be a fun idea to show guys how to do it, in a simple way.”
