The Verona Boys Scouts, Troop 2, will host a Pancake Breakfast on March 13th at the First Presbyterian Church at 10 Fairview Avenue. This event, which runs from 8 to 11:30 am, is one of the troop’s major fundraisers. Proceeds will be used to subsidize membership fees, camping trips, meetings and educational activities.
The menu includes pancakes, sausage, juice, coffee and tea. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for senior citizens and children 11 and under. They may be purchased from your neighborhood scout, at the door, or email Rich Plessner.
At a recent meeting the group celebrated the 100th birthday of the Boy Scouts of America and 90 years of scouting in Verona. In addition to regular outdoor trips and activities, boys scouts are taught the value of community service and good character. Interested boys in grades 5 through high school are invited to speak with members of the Troop about the benefits of scouting.
The breakfast is worth the visit – the scouts are doing some great things and need your support.
